Nonfiction Book-
Marcovitz, Hal. Teens & Race. Broomall, PA: Mason Crest, 2004. Print
This source was very helpful to me in learning about how racism affects teens in our society. It covers many different asspects of racism. It explains the history of racism and how diverse our generation of teens are today. This source gave me examples of what biracial teens deal with while going up, such as, schooling and finding employment. It gave me some good reasons why racism is a bad thing and how we need to stop it. I think this source has many bias information because it covers a huge controversial topic. This book is in a series of books called the Gallup Youth Survey that have been writen fairly recently. These books are sold all around the world and I think it is a very credible source. This information will help me with my research because it gave me many different examples of how teens deal with race today.

Documentary-
Davis, Kiri. "A Girl Like Me." YouTube. YouTube, 04 May 2007. Web. 01 May 2013.
This source was very helpful to me because it showed how many African American teen girls percieve themselves and others. They talk about their feelings of inferiority and their confusion about who they are and where they come from. It also explores the beliefs in our society that black people are not equal to white people. This documentary gave me many examples, such as, when the girls said that kinky hair was unattractive and that their skin was ugly. I think this source has bias in it because it only interviews black females and what their thoughts and perceptions are. I believe this is a credible source because it gives you a good idea of what teen girls go through and this documentary also was recently updated. This information will help me with my research because I will need to use the information complete my project.

This source was helpful because it explores mixed race and inter-ethnic families and their understanding of race and culture. It made me realize how bad racism is and that it needs to stop. It explains how outraged and and hurt his family and his community were after hearing about it. I think this article is unbiased because it only talks about the story of one person, not multiple.
